Some of our previous shows ...

We are very proud of our productions at Applause. Lots of hard work goes into each and every one. Our pupils love to perform- it’s great fun, exciting, empowering and gives everyone such a boost in confidence. Our staff are very dedicated to ensuring that each & every performance is developed to a very high standard. Since Applause was founded we have staged over 50 productions. Our junior drama pupils also take part in an in class performance each year. We choose a story, re envisage it, add in characters and write a script based on the original. Last year one of our 6 year olds wrote a little play, that he had completely devised himself. And we performed it. Talk about inspiring! Would you like your child to be involved? Book a FREE TASTER for any of our classes and come and see what we’re all about.

If two or more children from the same immediate family take part, each child gets a £10 REDUCTION. Consequently places are limited and if you would like to take part, you will need to register your interest as soon as possible. Anyone aged 7-16 years is welcome. It’s a fantastic week and incorporates all aspects of putting on a show. Pupils are expected to work hard and have loads of fun as they are put through their paces learning a new script, songs and dances. And, of course, having a brilliant time. Everyone feels a great sense of achievement. After all, they have learnt a full show and performed in only 5 days!

Our main summer school is the second week of August. This year based on Shrek. Held at Clayton Village Hall, we hold the auditions on the Monday morning, by lunch time the show is cast. Then we start working on script and musical numbers. By Wednesday/Thursday morning the show is usually completely set, ready to start a full run through on Thursday afternoon and Friday. On the Friday we have two performances at 5pm and 7pm as we feel that everyone has worked so hard, they deserve to do more than one show! The cost includes 26 hours of fun packed time, a script and a CD of the musical numbers. Tickets are available in July, during the week of the summer school and on the door. A packed lunch is needed each day, and a tuck shop is available. Cost for the week is £95.(£85 for siblings with the £10 discount per child)
